Shrouded in mystery the steps to Godrevy's middle car park disappeared one night. 

Although nothing has ever been proven, rumours circulated locally that they were taken by frustrated Ice cream man Bob Trescothick in an attempt to prevent beachgoers form reaching a rival van.
